This is an exceptionally rare copper coin from the Bhadra/Mitra Dynasty, minted during the reign of King Damabhadra approximately 2,200 years ago (200-100 BC) in the Vidarbha region of ancient India. This uniface inscribed coin weighs 2.70 grams and features a beautifully die-struck obverse displaying a majestic lion encircled within a decorative frame, accompanied by symbolic elements including a tree within railings, the sacred Ujjayini symbol, and an auspicious Swastika. The reverse remains blank, characteristic of uniface coinage from this period.

The coin bears Brahmi script legends reading “Damabhadasa” at the base, serving as both an identifier and historical documentation.
