What you will find here
British India annas, rupees and pice from Victoria through George VI; Republic India decimal coinage and commemoratives; princely state issues, Mughal and Sultanate silver, ancient punch-marked pieces, and world coins. Every listing is a single physical coin photographed as it is, not a stock image of the type.
How to judge a coin before you buy it
Three things decide what a coin is: the year, the mint mark under it, and the condition. Neither year nor mint identifies a coin on its own - the same date from a different mint can be a common piece or a scarce one. Mint marks on Indian coins are small and sit below the year: a diamond or dot for Mumbai, a star for Hyderabad, nothing at all for Kolkata, a solid dot for Noida.
Condition matters more than most buyers expect
A coin that has circulated is not an uncirculated coin, and the gap between the two is wider than the gap between many dates. Read the photographs rather than the grade word, and look at the high points of the design - that is where wear shows first.
