Partial repeats, near-sequences, blocks of matching digits, and numbers that are one digit away from something rarer. The category exists because those numbers are genuinely collected while sitting well short of a solid or a true radar.

Read the serial first

On these notes the number is the object, so start with the serial in the photograph and the denomination second. A fold running across the serial deserves more attention than one anywhere else on the note.
