A 1 rupee note bundle is a full packet of 100 consecutively numbered notes, kept together since issue. Most of the value comes from the signature, the year and the serial run — an early Bhattacharya or Bhootlingam packet, a low-number run, or a bundle containing a 786 note sits far above a common one.These are collector bundles, not face-value currency. The RBI does not sell note packets to the public, and a collectible bundle is priced above the face value it contains — what you are paying for is the condition, the serial run and the fact that the packet has stayed intact.
