A silver punch-marked Karshapana of ancient India, from the Magadha-Mauryan series. The irregular polygonal flan carries a group of separately applied symbol punches, including a clear sun symbol at the edge and a six-armed device, together with hill and branch-like marks. The reverse bears a single small punch, as is usual for this coinage.
