Rare British India silver Half Rupee of 1889 issued in the name of Queen Victoria, Empress of India. One side carries the crowned diademed bust of the Queen facing left with the legend "VICTORIA EMPRESS", while the other shows the value "HALF RUPEE / INDIA" and the date 1889 within an ornate floral wreath. The area below the date carries no mint mark, which points to the Calcutta mint.
