Secure a fascinating piece of modern Indian financial history with this obsolete 1000 Rupees banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of India under the Mahatma Gandhi Series. Bearing the signature of RBI Governor D. Subbarao, this cotton-based note is dated 2010 and features the iconic portrait of Mahatma Gandhi alongside the majestic Ashoka Pillar emblem. The reverse showcases a compelling vignette celebrating India's industrial and agricultural progress. Graded in Extremely Fine condition, this specimen displays only gentle handling marks while retaining its crisp paper quality and striking visual appeal. Following the historic November 2016 demonetization policy, these high-denomination notes were officially pulled from circulation, instantly transforming them from everyday currency into sought-after numismatic treasures.
