This rare postal stamp represents a fascinating piece of Indian philatelic history from the Portuguese India era. The stamp features a 7 New Paise denomination with brown coloring and bears both cancellation marks and overprinting by the Government of India (GOI). Originally issued during the transitional period following India's integration of Portuguese territories, this stamp commemorates the Assistencia Publica (Public Assistance) theme, reflecting the administrative changes of that era. In UNC (Uncirculated/New) condition, this mint stamp showcases exceptional preservation with no signs of wear or use. The crisp printing and clear overprints make it particularly desirable for serious collectors. This stamp holds significant numismatic and historical value as it documents a unique chapter in Indian postal history when overprints were essential during territorial reorganization. Collectors of Indian stamps, postal history enthusiasts, and those interested in Portuguese India memorabilia recognize this as a notable acquisition. Its rarity, combined with pristine condition and historical relevance, makes it an excellent addition to any specialized collection or investment portfolio. #
