Own a piece of Sikh Empire history with this exceptional 1 Paisa copper coin from the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1822-1830). This authentic circulating coin features the distinctive leaf motif that characterizes this iconic series, struck during the height of the Sikh Empire's power in Punjab. Composed of copper and weighing 8.24 grams with a diameter of 22mm, this coin represents a tangible connection to early 19th-century Indian numismatic heritage. The 1 Paisa denomination, valued at 1/64th of a Rupee, was essential to daily commerce throughout the empire. Ranjit Singh's coins are highly prized by serious collectors for their historical significance and relative scarcity—particularly well-preserved examples. The irregular round shape and hand-struck nature of these coins add authentic character and variation that distinguishes genuine period pieces from later reproductions. This demonetized currency has evolved from everyday tender to a sought-after collectible, valued not only for its precious metal content but for its role in documenting a fascinating era of Indian history. Ideal for numismatists, history enthusiasts, and South Asian culture collectors.
