Bahama Islands Elizabeth II 1966 Proof 5 Coin Set with BOX

This exceptional 1966 Bahama Islands Elizabeth II Proof 5-coin set represents a significant piece of Caribbean numismatic history. The set contains all five denominations issued that year—1¢, 5¢, 10¢, 15¢, and 25¢—each struck in gleaming proof condition to showcase intricate design details. Minted to commemorate the Bahamas' currency system under British Commonwealth rule, these coins feature Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, with the original packaging and box still intact—a rarity that elevates its appeal significantly. Proof coins are produced in limited quantities with specially prepared dies and polished blanks, resulting in mirror-like fields and frosted designs. This 1966 date is particularly desirable as it marks an important transitional period in the Bahamas' monetary history. Collectors prize complete proof sets in original condition, especially when accompanied by the original box, which protects against damage and confirms authenticity. Whether you're building a Commonwealth collection, focusing on Caribbean coins, or seeking vintage proof sets, this is a standout acquisition that combines historical significance with exceptional presentation and rarity.
