MAHATMA BASAVEHWARA -2006 MUMBAI MINT RARE 2 COIN ((PROOF SET))

This is a rare 2006 commemorative Proof Coin Set issued by the Mumbai Mint, honoring Mahatma Basaveshwara — the revered 12th-century philosopher, social reformer, and founder of the Lingayat faith in Karnataka. Struck in proof quality, this set showcases exceptional minting precision, sharp design details, and a brilliant mirror-like finish that distinguishes it from regular circulation coins. Issued by the Government of India to commemorate Basaveshwara's contributions to social equality and spiritual reform, this coin set holds deep historical and cultural significance, especially for collectors interested in Indian numismatic tributes to social reformers and saints. Featuring two coins in the set, likely varying denominations or metals, this piece is a fantastic addition to any serious collector's portfolio. Due to its limited mintage and proof-quality strike, this set is increasingly hard to find in the market, making it a valuable and rare acquisition. Perfect for collectors, history enthusiasts, and investors alike, this coin set represents a piece of India's rich cultural heritage while offering strong potential for appreciation in value over time. A must-have for any serious numismatic collection.
