MOTILAL NEHRU-2012 Mumbai Mint 2 Coin (Proof Set)

This 2012 Motilal Nehru Proof Coin Set is a commemorative issue released by the Government of India to honor the 125th birth anniversary of Pandit Motilal Nehru, the eminent freedom fighter, lawyer, and father of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Struck at the prestigious Mumbai Mint, this two-coin proof set typically comprises a Rs.5 and Rs.100 denomination, both crafted with exceptional precision to proof standards—featuring mirror-like fields, frosted design elements, and sharp detailing that distinguish proof coins from regular circulation strikes. Motilal Nehru played a pivotal role in India's independence movement and was a key figure in the Indian National Congress. This commemorative set pays tribute to his legacy and contribution to the nation's freedom struggle. For numismatists, this set holds significant collectible value due to its limited mintage, superior proof finish, and historical commemorative theme. Coins from the Mumbai Mint are especially prized for their craftsmanship and rarity in the secondary market. Ideal for coin collectors, history enthusiasts, and investors seeking a piece of India's numismatic heritage, this proof set makes a valuable addition to any curated collection.
