This Nepal 1000 Rupees silver commemorative coin honors the birth centenary of Satyamohan Joshi, a distinguished archaeological and cultural expert whose contributions significantly shaped Nepal's understanding of its rich heritage. Issued in 2076 (2019) by the Nepal government during the Federal Republic era, this non-circulating commemorative piece represents a meaningful tribute to intellectual achievement and cultural preservation. Crafted from premium .990 silver, the coin weighs 10 grams and features a perfectly round 29mm design with a 2mm thickness, produced using traditional milled technique with medal alignment. Its substantial silver content makes it valuable both as a numismatic collectible and as bullion, with the precious metal composition ensuring long-term durability and intrinsic worth. Collectors prize this coin for its dual appeal: it commemorates an important cultural figure while offering genuine investment potential through its pure silver composition. The limited mintage of commemorative issues, combined with its historical significance and aesthetic design, makes it an increasingly sought-after piece for serious numismatists. As awareness of Satyamohan Joshi's legacy grows, so does demand for this respectful tribute, positioning it as a smart addition to specialized collections focused on South Asian heritage or educational commemoratives.
