Own a fascinating piece of Philippine numismatic history with this 50 Centavos note from Mountain Province, issued in 1942. This local emergency banknote was produced by the Mountain Province Emergency Board during a pivotal moment in Philippine history—the Japanese occupation era of World War II. During this tumultuous period, local authorities issued their own currency to facilitate commerce when standard Philippine peso circulation became disrupted.
This rare denomination represents a unique intersection of military history and regional currency innovation. The 1942 date marks a significant year when the Philippines faced extraordinary challenges, making these emergency notes important historical artifacts. Collectors highly value Mountain Province notes for their scarcity and historical significance, as relatively few survived the decades intact.
The note's condition, originality, and rarity classification as "B2" make it an exceptional addition to any serious currency collection. Whether you're a Philippine history enthusiast, military history buff, or dedicated numismatist, this piece offers tangible connection to a remarkable historical period. These emergency issue notes have become increasingly difficult to acquire as collectors worldwide recognize their importance and limited supply continues to diminish.
