Uzbekistan 1 Sum Banknote 1992 P61a2 UNC Unique and Rare

This Uzbekistan 1 Sum banknote from 1992 (P61a2 designation) represents an important piece of post-Soviet numismatic history. Graded UNC (Uncirculated), this note captures Uzbekistan's transition to independence, issued during the nation's first year as a sovereign state following the Soviet Union's collapse. The pristine condition and scarce availability make this an exceptional acquisition for serious banknote collectors. Its historical significance as an early nationalist currency combined with its rarity and perfect preservation elevates it beyond mere face value. Collectors value early-issue notes from newly independent nations for their limited mintage and cultural importance. This particular specimen's UNC grade ensures sharp details, vibrant printing, and unmarred surfaces—the hallmarks of superior numismatic condition. An ideal centerpiece for anyone collecting post-Cold War currencies or building a comprehensive Eastern European banknote portfolio.
