The obverse shows the crowned bust of the King with the legend “GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR”, while the reverse carries “ONE RUPEE INDIA” with the date 1944 inside an ornate wreath of lotus, rose, shamrock and thistle. The mark below the date is a dot over a small diamond, the Lahore Mint mark for this year.
