Rare 5 Rupee 1998 Republic India Calcutta Mint Coinage India Coin # A142

This is a 5 Rupees coin of Republic India dated 1998, from the cupro-nickel definitive series carrying the large numeral 5 flanked by lotus buds and blooms. The value side reads “रुपये” above the numeral with “RUPEES” and the date below, while the other side shows the Lion Capital of Ashoka with “भारत” and “INDIA” along the rim and the motto “सत्यमेव जयते” beneath. No mint mark is present centred below the date, which points to the Calcutta (Kolkata) mint.
