The reverse carries the Lion Capital of Ashoka with “सत्यमेव जयते” beneath, flanked by “भारत” and “INDIA”, while the face shows the large numeral 5 with “रुपये” above, “RUPEES” below and the date 1998, framed by a stylised floral spray on either side.
