This exceptional copper 1/4 Paisa (Akhtar) represents a significant piece of Indian numismatic history, minted during the reign of Tipu Sultan between AD 1787-1799 in the Mysore Kingdom’s Patan Mint. Catalogued as KM121.7, this rare coin weighs 2.74 grams and measures 11.96mm in diameter, making it a compact yet historically substantial collectible.

The obverse features the distinctive Persian ‘Te’ symbol positioned above an elephant walking rightward—iconic imagery reflecting Tipu Sultan’s reign. The reverse displays “Akhtar” at the top with “Zarb Patan” (Patan Mint mark) at the bottom, with a retrograde date of AM1226. Graded in Very Fine condition, this coin exhibits excellent preservation despite its age, with clear details and minimal wear.
