Step back to the formative years of South Asian numismatics with this scarce 1949 Dominion-period one pice coin, issued by the Government of Pakistan. Struck in durable bronze at a foreign mint shortly after independence, this historic piece features a distinctive holed center flan, characteristic of the era's practical coinage. The obverse showcases the iconic crescent and star motif flanked by the English denomination and split date, complemented by Urdu inscriptions. Graded in Very Fine condition, this specimen exhibits a rich, even chocolate-brown patina and honest circulation wear that speaks to its genuine heritage. Pakistan's early holed bronze issues are increasingly sought after by advanced world coin enthusiasts and specialists in Commonwealth history trying to complete comprehensive type sets. Because post-partition Pakistan coins from this precise vintage are growing harder to source in pleasing grades, discerning collectors will appreciate adding this tangible piece of mid-century statehood to their cabinets. Rest assured, the photographs display the exact unique coin you will receive.
