Celebrate the beautiful game with this stunning Uganda 1000 Shillings 2002 commemorative silver coin, officially issued by the Bank of Uganda as part of its acclaimed "World of Football" series. Struck in .999 fine silver, this 24.83g, 38.60mm round coin was minted to honor the FIFA World Cup 2002, capturing the electrifying moment of a football player executing an acrobatic overhead kick—a dynamic reverse design complemented by a colored insert and stadium backdrop, making it visually striking among sports-themed numismatics. The obverse proudly displays Uganda's national Coat of Arms alongside the inscription "FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY," reflecting the nation's sovereign identity and pride. As a non-circulating legal tender coin, it was crafted exclusively for collectors, not everyday commerce, adding to its exclusivity. This piece appeals strongly to football enthusiasts, silver bullion collectors, and world coin enthusiasts alike, thanks to its high silver purity, thematic rarity, and limited mintage tied to a global sporting event. With reeded edges and precise milled craftsmanship, it stands as a fine example of modern commemorative minting. A wonderful addition to any collection, this coin merges sports history with numismatic artistry—an excellent choice for both display and long-term investment value.
