This exceptional Uganda 1000 Shillings silver coin from 2002 is a stunning non-circulating commemorative piece celebrating the "World of Football" series. Minted by the Bank of Uganda, this numismatic treasure features pure .999 silver composition, weighing an impressive 25.10 grams with a substantial 38.60mm diameter. The obverse showcases Uganda's national coat of arms alongside patriotic inscriptions including "FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY," while the reverse displays an elegant globe rendered in football pattern imagery—a fitting tribute to the beautiful game. This rare collectible represents a pivotal moment in Uganda's numismatic history, combining artistic craftsmanship with thematic significance. The milled technique and medal alignment ↑↑ orientation exemplify premium coin production standards. As a non-circulating issue from the early 2000s, this piece has remained largely preserved, making it increasingly difficult to locate in quality condition. Football-themed coins hold particular appeal among dual-interest collectors—those passionate about both numismatics and sports memorabilia. The .999 silver purity guarantees intrinsic bullion value while the historical and commemorative nature ensures strong collector demand. This is an investment-grade numismatic item perfect for serious collectors seeking scarce African coins with cultural significance.
