The Uganda 1000 Shillings 2002 "Goal" Silver Coin is a striking commemorative issue from the Bank of Uganda, celebrating football fever from the popular "World of Football" numismatic series. Struck in .999 fine silver with a substantial weight of 24.83 grams and a diameter of 38.6 mm, this non-circulating legal tender coin showcases exceptional craftsmanship through its milled technique and medal alignment. The obverse proudly displays Uganda's national Coat of Arms accompanied by the patriotic motto "For God and My Country," while the reverse captures the universal passion for the sport with a dynamic depiction of a football caught in the net, marking the global football spirit of 2002—a year synonymous with the FIFA World Cup held in South Korea and Japan. This coin holds special appeal for sports memorabilia collectors, silver bullion enthusiasts, and numismatists interested in African coinage. Its limited mintage as part of a themed commemorative series, combined with high silver purity, makes it a desirable addition for both investment and collection purposes. The reeded edge and precise detailing add to its authentic, premium finish, making this coin a wonderful conversation piece and a lasting tribute to football's global legacy.
