This is a 2002 Uganda 1000 Shillings commemorative coin, part of the officially issued "World of Football" series by the Bank of Uganda. Struck in .999 fine silver, it weighs 24.83 grams and measures 38.6mm in diameter, featuring a classic round shape with a reeded edge and milled technique in medal alignment. The obverse showcases Uganda's national coat of arms alongside the inscription "For God and My Country," while the reverse depicts a football caught in a net, symbolizing the global passion for the sport—likely issued to celebrate the 2002 FIFA World Cup held in Japan and South Korea. As a non-circulating legal tender coin, it holds strong appeal among numismatists, football enthusiasts, and silver collectors alike. Its high silver purity, thematic design, and limited mintage make it a standout piece for collections focused on sports commemoratives or African coinage. This coin represents both cultural pride and international sporting history, making it a meaningful addition to any serious or casual collector's portfolio.
