2 रुपये के नोट के सामने की तरफ अंग्रेजी और हिंदी में रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया सबसे ऊपर छपा है। बाईं ओर अशोक स्तंभ मुद्रित है और दाईं ओर एक वॉटरमार्क है जहां अशोक स्तंभ भी मुद्रित है लेकिन केवल उज्ज्वल प्रकाश में देखा जा सकता है। ऊपर दाईं ओर, नोट में RBI का लोगो है और नीचे दाईं ओर नोट का क्रमांक अंकित है। नोट के नीचे बाईं ओर देवनागरी लिपि में उल्लिखित 2 रूपए हैं। नोट के निचले मध्य भाग पर हिंदी और अंग्रेजी में राज्यपाल के हस्ताक्षर भी लिखे हैं।

British India had 4 different issues in yesterday’s 2 rupee note. In which the first issue was J B Taylor Signature and the color of his serial number was black. The second note that was issued had the signature of C.D Deshmukh ji and its serial numbers were also written with black ink.
